Meet Our Doctors

At XRA Medical Imaging, our goal is to always offer the highest level of patient care.  Our on-site, highly qualified radiologists can provide accurate and comprehensive diagnostic imaging interpretations at our seven state-of-the-art imaging centers conveniently located throughout Rhode Island, as well as at the three hospitals we staff.


David W. Rowe, MD

Dr. Rowe is the President of XRA Medical Imaging, Inc.  He completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Boston University-affiliated Boston Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident and went on to a fellowship in Neuroradiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he also served as a Clinical Fellow at Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Rowe is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Radiology with a Certificate of Additional Qualification in Neuroradiology.

Dr. Rowe is Chief of Diagnostic Imaging at Kent Hospital.  He is a member of the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, American Society of Neuroradiology, and The Society of Breast Imaging.  He is a member of the Rhode Island Radiological Society where he currently serves as treasurer.  Dr. Rowe serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees of South County Hospital Healthcare System.


Richard A. Black, MD

Dr. Black completed his residency in Diagnostic Imaging at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.

Dr. Black completed his fellowship in Cross-Sectional Imaging including CT, ultrasound and image guided interventions, at the Hospital of St. Raphael, a Yale University affiliate.  He later went on to acquire additional training in MRI at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Black served as Chairman of the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at South County Hospital for over 20 years and is a former President of the Medical Staff at South County Hospital and member of the South County Hospital Board of Trustees. 

Dr. Black is a member of the American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, American Roentgen Ray Society, Rhode Island Radiological Society, and the Rhode Island Medical Society.


James W. Blechman, MD

Dr. Blechman completed his residency in Diagnostic Imaging at Bridgeport Hospital - Yale University.

Dr. Blechman went on to complete his fellowship training in Abdominal Imaging at the prestigious Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University.

Dr. Blechman is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology and he has additional expertise in abdominal imaging including CT, MRI, ultrasound, and image-guided procedures.


Naveh Levy, MD

Dr. Levy is a board certified radiologist.  He completed his diagnostic radiology training at the Cleveland Clinic, followed by an MRI fellowship at Michigan State University.  The fellowship included dedicated teaching in musculoskeletal imaging, neuroradiology, body MRI, and breast MRI.  A portion of his fellowship was dedicated to sports medicine, where Dr. Levy became proficient in joint injections, bursa injections, and MRI arthrography.

Dr. Levy also has additional training and expertise in women’s imaging, with a special focus on screening mammograms including tomosynthesis, diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI.

Dr. Levy is skilled in many image-guided procedures, including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy, stereotactic-guided breast biopsy, and MRI-guided breast biopsy, as well as other procedures such as cyst aspirations and thyroid biopsy to name a few.  The patient is his number one priority and he ensures a positive experience with minimal to no discomfort in any procedure that he performs.


Jeffrey E. Silverstein, MD

Dr. Silverstein completed residency training in Diagnostic Imaging at Bridgeport Hospital/Yale University in Connecticut.

Dr. Silverstein completed additional fellowship training in Abdominal Imaging at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia where he received extensive training in all aspects of cross sectional imaging techniques and image-guided procedures. 

Dr. Silverstein has been board certified in Diagnostic Radiology since 1996.  He has expertise in all aspects of radiology including MRI, CT and ultrasound as well as PET/CT imaging and breast MRI.  His special interests include hepatic/abdominal MRI and oncologic imaging. 

Dr. Silverstein is a member of the American College of Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society, and the Rhode Island Radiology Society


Aamir Ahmad, MD

Dr. Ahmad completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky and went on to complete a fellowship in Vascular/Interventional Radiology at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas.

He is certified by the American Board of Radiology and is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology and the American College of Radiology.


William Coscina, MD

Dr. Coscina received his M.D. from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and performed his residency in Radiology at the Cornell University Medical Center.  He completed his fellowship training in CT, Ultrasound and MRI at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Coscina is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology with additional expertise in cross sectional imaging including MRI, CT, ultrasound and image-guided procedures.

Dr. Coscina is a member of the New England Roentgen Ray Society and the Rhode Island Medical Society.


Daniel Golding, MD

Dr. Golding completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he also went on to complete a fellowship in Cross-Sectional Body Imaging in CT, MRI, and ultrasound.  Dr. Golding specializes in body imaging, especially thoracic radiology, and has special interest in emergency radiology and women’s imaging.

Dr. Golding is a member of the American Roentgen Ray Society, the Radiological Society of North America, the American College of Radiology, the Rhode Island Medical Society, the Radiological Society of Rhode Island, and the American Medical Association.


Gautam Mirchandani, MD

Dr. Mirchandani joined XRA from New York City, where he had been the residency program director in radiology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.  He also spent time on the staff at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, where he received fellowship training. He maintains an interest in neuroimaging, especially as it pertains to stroke and white matter disease, as well as brain tumors and head & neck disease.

He is board-certified by the American Board of Radiology and has his Certificate of Additional Qualification in neuroradiology.


Christina Pinto, MD

Dr. Pinto completed her Radiology Residency at the University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois followed by her Body MRI Fellowship at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

She is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology and International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Imaging.


Bradley Shapiro, MD

Dr. Shapiro completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Massachusetts-affiliated St. Vincent Hospital.  He has served as Chief of Radiology at Memorial Hospital since 1998 and is a Fellow of the American College of Radiology.

At Brown University, Dr. Shapiro is an Assistant Clinical Professor and in 2012, he received the Dean's Excellence in Teaching Award.

He is a member of the Rhode Island Radiological Society, The American College of Radiology, and Radiological Society of North America.


Timothy Tash, MD

Dr. Tash attended Medical School at the University of Groningen in Groningen, The Netherlands.  He completed his residency in Diagnostic Imaging at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts.

Dr. Tash is a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society, Radiological Society of North America, American College of Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society, Massachusetts Radiologic Society, and The Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine.
